Description

The OS Ranch Museum in downtown Post, Texas.
Open Tuesday- Saturday. 10:00am- 12:00pm & 1:00pm- 5:00pm.

The OS Ranch Museum holds an extensive collection of sculptures, paintings, and textiles from Texas, the American West, and further places such as Europe and Asia. Located in Post, Texas, the OS Ranch Museum opened its doors as a 501(3)(c) chairty in 1991 to display the works acquired by Giles Connell McCrary, the founder of the OS Ranch Foundation.

The museum rotates its exhibits three times a year because the number of exhibits in storage is so large that at least six years will pass before an artifact is returned to public display. The McCrary family has always loved the holiday seasons, so each year there are Easter eggs by Faberge, Waterford Crystal, and Lalique displayed while at Christmas the exhibits include nativity scenes, creches, ornaments, brass statues, and sculptures from around the world. The museum also includes the works of many artists of the Southwest depicting Texas in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
