Description

Fri. 12/2: The Carol of Lights @ Texas Tech University. Free!
Carillon starts at 6:30pm.
Ceremony begins at 7pm.
Clear bag policy.

The 64th Annual Carol of Lights will serve as the official kickoff for Texas Tech's Centennial Celebration. This annual event, hosted by the Residence Halls Association, is attended by thousands of students, alumni and members of the Lubbock community and is one of our largest and oldest traditions. This year's ceremony, produced in conjunction with the Office of the President, will be reimagined with live entertainment, new staging, lighting, and sound as well as a firework display to conclude the night. This will be a spectacular evening for the entire family as we usher in the official start of Texas Tech's Centennial Celebration.

With the flip of a switch, more than 25,000 colored lights will illuminate 13 buildings around Memorial Circle, The Engineering Key and the Broadway Entrance to the campus during Texas Tech University's Carol of Lights.

Vehicle access to campus will be restricted beginning at 5:30pm to allow for the increased pedestrian traffic.

At 7:00 p.m., the Masked Rider and Horse, Saddle Tramps Torch Light Processional and High Riders will begin at the University Seal at the Broadway Entrance and follow the Luminaria Lighted Route around Memorial Circle to the Science Quadrangle.

The lights will be turned on every night from dusk (approximately 6:30 p.m.) until midnight from December 3 through January 1, 2023.

Our official hash tag will be #TTUCOL
